On June 15th, "The Animation of Mortality", the film in which my interactive project is based,  was screened in Toronto as part of Nuit Rose. Nuit Rose is an annual queer art and performance festival that coincides with Pride Month. This was a very special moment for me. Not only was it the first time in decades since I've shown work in my hometown, but it was installed at the 519, a community center that offers LGBTQ2S support services. I was sorry to miss the opening but hope to bring my interactive project to the festival next year. Looking forward to connecting with Toronto activists and Recollectors when I'm there in July.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Brooklyn Arts Fund, I have begun working on interactive tools for the Animation of Mortality with Melody Loveless at Harvestworks. Melody Loveless is a musician and multimedia artist who creates live-coded music, generative sound installations and multi-sensory performances. Here, Melody is showing how my project will use objects in Max/MSP/Jitter to integrate audio and visuals. Thank you to Carol Parkinson, for partnering us to work on my project!

Community Arts Grants Provide The Indispensable Service Of Putting Our City And State Cultural Dollars Directly Into The Hands Of The Artists And Organizations, Encouraging The Kind Of Cultural And Artistic Engagement That Has Helped Make Brooklyn A World-wide Destination For Arts And Culture. Each Year, Grant Applications Are Reviewed By A Group Of Panelists With Expertise In The Applicant's Discipline. ​
